I arrived in Sydney in 2001 to be a part of Hillsong Bible College and this song is from the first live album recording I was a part of, You Are My World. I had grown up learning to play piano to Hillsong music and now I was here as a part of it. God is Great fell into the category of song with lyrics that are immediately accessible to children. If you need a song for a kids choir to learn and develop their skill this is the song. There are some great choir parts and harmonies that a perfect for learning to sing together. It’s hard to create a instrumental to such a familiar song that still sounds fresh, but producer Michael Zuvela absolutely nailed this track with an arrangement that keeps young peoples attention and focus on the meaning of this amazing song.
